All academic programs of Florida International University are approved by the Florida Board of Education, the FIU Board of Trustees and the Florida Board of Governors. The university is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees.
The following baccalaureate engineering programs in the college are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (http://abet.org): Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. ABET accreditation provides assurance that a college or university program meets the quality standards established by the profession for which the program prepares its students.
The Baccalaureate program in Computer Science is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET.
The Baccalaureate program in Construction Management is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education.
