The FIU College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) team competed and ranked high amongst the best global institutions in the annual Spaceport America Cup (SAC).

Over 1,700 students and faculty gathered in Southern New Mexico for the annual SAC. Drawn by the opportunity to collaborate and compete at a world-class spaceport facility, they represent the best and brightest from more than 150 institutions located across the world.

The SAC International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) is the world’s largest intercollegiate rocket engineering conference and competition. Congratulations to FIU SEDS for their accomplishment.

🚀 FIU SEDS placed:

  • 13th Internationally in the Barrowman ranking
  • 27th Overall in the World
  • 1st Overall School in Florida and in the Barrowman ranking
  • 9th Overall in the United States and 15th place overall in the Barrowman ranking
