The College of Engineering and Computing is proud to announce that John L. Volakis, professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been inducted into the Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine of Florida (ASEMFL). This prestigious honor recognizes individuals whose outstanding research and innovations have had consequential impacts in their fields.
Volakis is internationally recognized for his pioneering contributions to electromagnetics, antennas, wearable electronics, and engineered materials. His research has advanced critical technologies with global applications, positioning FIU as a leader in electrical and computer engineering innovation.
