Rather than focusing exclusively on engineering, the BSIE is designed to tailor your degree to your strengths in a particular workforce, such as emerging entrepreneurial businesses.
The curriculum combines core instruction with a secondary field of engineering courses. You can customize that field to explore subjects central to the modern engineering landscape, including:

Interdisciplinary Capstone Design Project
This program requires a capstone project to be completed in your last two semesters.
The capstone project is a thorough team-based design experience, providing a deep dive into the process of designing an engineering solution, from initial problem definition to final product manufacturing.
Jumpstart your MS in Engineering Management
The BSIE/MSEM Accelerated Degree Pathway lets seniors with a GPA of 3.2 or higher apply up to 9 credit hours from the BSIE program to the Master of Science in Engineering Management. For more information, speak to your undergraduate advisor.

Apply to FIU
Interested students are encouraged to apply to FIU as early as possible. Applicants must submit a high school diploma, SAT, ACT or CLT scores and transcripts from all schools attended.
