Major in Information Technology
The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology helps you build the skills you need to succeed in a world shaped by technology and innovation. The program mixes hands-on learning with a strong technical foundation in areas like software and database development, cloud computing, application deployment and management.
You will learn from faculty and industry experts while building the problem-solving and technical skills needed to design, build and manage complex information systems.
Tracks & Classes
The BS in Information Technology has two tracks and an accelerated pathway.
Both tracks start with the same core classes in programming, human-computer interaction, operating systems, web development, cloud computing and more.
DevOps Track
The DevOps track is for students interested in continuous integration and continuous delivery, configuration management and monitoring.
Software Track
The software track is for students who want to grow as programmers and work as software developers.
BS in Information Technology to MS in Engineering Management
Complete the BS in Information Technology and Master of Science in Engineering Management degrees on an accelerated schedule.
Capstone Courses
This program requires a junior and a senior capstone course.
In your junior year, you’ll learn how to collaborate and work efficiently as a team in an Agile environment.
As a senior, you’ll work on faculty-supervised projects in teams of up to five members to design and build solutions to real-world problems using the skills and experience obtained across your classes.

Interested students are encouraged to apply to FIU as early as possible. Applicants must submit a high school diploma, SAT, ACT or CLT scores and transcripts from all schools attended.
