Joshua D. Hutcheson, Ph.D.

Joshua D. Hutcheson, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Director of the Center for Innovation and Cardiovascular Health at Florida International University, has been inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering College of Fellows.

Election to the AIMBE College of Fellows is among the highest professional distinctions in medical and biological engineering, representing the top two percent of engineers in the field. The honor recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to research, practice, education, and innovation.

Hutcheson was recognized for advancing multiscale models and low-cost diagnostics to address cardiovascular disease, as well as for leadership in teaching, research, translation, and outreach.

He was formally inducted during the AIMBE Annual Event held April 13, 2026, in Arlington, Virginia, alongside 175 members of the AIMBE College of Fellows Class of 2026.

The AIMBE College of Fellows is comprised of leading experts across academia, industry, government, and clinical practice, including Nobel laureates and members of the National Academies.
