Major in Construction Management
The Bachelor of Science in Construction Management prepares you to lead projects that combine engineering, architecture and business. Through internships and site visits, you’ll build practical skills that connect classroom learning to real construction work.
You will learn the skills needed to oversee large-scale construction projects, like cost estimating, project scheduling, safety, quality management and construction materials and methods.

Classes
When enrolled in the BS in Construction Management, you’ll get first-hand knowledge of the real-world requirements for land development, home building, public works, industrial, commercial, marine and heavy highway construction.
You’ll take courses in:
- Project Management
- Environmental Control
- Financial Oversight
- Fundamentals of site-work and equipment
You can also choose electives in advanced topics and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and construction robotics.

Senior Design Project
In your final two semesters, you'll complete a senior design capstone project.
You'll work in a team, guided by faculty and industry mentors, to solve real-world engineering problems. You'll use your skills to design, build and plan the budget for a project from start to finish.

Combined BS/MS Pathway
Students pursuing a BS in Construction Management who have completed 75 credits and have a GPA of 3.2 or higher may apply for the BS/MS in Construction Management pathway. Talk to your advisor to learn more
Apply to FIU
Interested students are encouraged to apply to FIU as early as possible. Applicants must submit a high school diploma, SAT, ACT or CLT scores and transcripts from all schools attended.
