Biography
Yesim Anter serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Special Projects at Florida International University’s College of Engineering & Computing. In this role, she supports the Dean and senior leadership in advancing the college’s mission through the planning, execution and analysis of a wide range of strategic initiatives. Her responsibilities span institutional planning, data analytics, policy development, internal communications and stakeholder engagement.
She leads efforts to monitor and improve the college’s national rankings and key performance indicators, offering data-driven insights and recommendations to guide strategic decisions. Yesim serves as the principal liaison to the Dean’s Leadership Council (DLC), overseeing board communications and strategy. She also works closely with the college’s marketing team on public relations efforts and helps coordinate high-level corporate visits and college-wide activities.
In addition to her college-level responsibilities, Yesim collaborates with FIU’s central units and leadership to align the college’s strategic initiatives with FIU’s broader goals in research, innovation and industry engagement. She is actively involved in initiatives that strengthen the college’s relationships with industry, government and philanthropic stakeholders. She also contributes to major strategic initiatives, such as the development of FIU’s Innovation Complex and its thematic solution centers.
With nearly 25 years of experience in managing complex initiatives in higher education, Yesim brings a deep understanding of organizational strategy and cross-functional collaboration. Prior to joining FIU in 2017, she held leadership roles at The Ohio State University’s (OSU) Electroscience Laboratory and the University of Illinois at Chicago’s (UIC) Microphysics Laboratory. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Istanbul University and an M.B.A. with a focus in marketing from UIC.
