Biography
Vanessa Faz serves as the Associate Director of Research Administration for the College of Engineering and Computing at Florida International University (FIU), providing leadership in the management and oversight of all post-award sponsored research functions. She ensures that research funds are managed effectively, awards are administered in compliance with university and sponsor requirements, and that faculty and staff receive the necessary guidance to achieve research objectives.
Faz supervises and supports the College Research Team by providing mentorship that promotes the use of effective, metric-driven processes and focuses on maintaining strategic excellence. She also works closely with senior leaders, faculty, and the Office of Research and Economic Development to enable proactive, user-focused customer service, fostering transparent communication that promotes collaboration and furthers new and ongoing research initiatives.
She is a proud FIU graduate with a master's degree in Higher Education Administration, a bachelor's degree in English, a minor in Sociology, and a Certificate in Professional and Public Writing. Her career in academia comprises more than 10 years of research administration in both the public and private sectors.
