Biography
Shabnam Rezapour is an associate professor in the Multidisciplinary Engineering and Computing Education, Systems and Management Department at Florida International University (FIU) and directs the Smart Decision-Making for Network-Centric Systems laboratory. She holds dual Ph.D.s in Supply Chain Management and Systems Engineering. Rezapour teaches a variety of courses, including business subjects like industrial and technological marketing and optimization courses such as applications of OR and stochastic optimization. Her research is dedicated to designing smart and resilient societies capable of adapting to chronic stresses like climate change and acute shocks such as disasters and malicious attacks. Her research group specializes in developing analytical and AI-optimization models to assess the vulnerability of network-centric systems and create effective mitigation policies. Rezapour has published over 40 journal papers and 3 books in these fields.

- Rezapour’s work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Department of Transportation, and the South-Central Climate Adaptation Science Center.
