Biography
Pranav Gangwani is a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida International University. His research focuses on cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, including Generative AI, large language models, adversarial AI, malware synthesis, trust management, and secure data systems. He has led and contributed to federally funded projects supported by the Air Force Research Laboratory, the Department of Energy, the National Security Agency, and the Griffiss Institute. His work has appeared in journals and conferences such as IEEE Access, Sensors and the IEEE Sensors Journal, and he serves as a reviewer for multiple high-impact venues as well as an editorial board member and guest editor for several international journals.
At FIU, Gangwani teaches graduate-level courses in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and data visualization, integrating emerging research and hands-on applications into the classroom. He mentors undergraduate and graduate students, including senior design teams developing AI-driven cybersecurity solutions, and supports national cybersecurity education initiatives through programs such as GenCyber and the NCAE Faculty Development Workshops. His prior work includes developing trust management models for wireless sensor networks, securing IoT data using blockchain technologies and applying machine learning and deep learning techniques for anomaly detection in critical infrastructure. Gangwani holds a Ph.D. and an masters in computer engineering from Florida International University and a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from SVKM’s NMIMS.
