Biography
Navdeep Kaur is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at FIU. Her research focuses on the design, synthesis, and characterization of nanostructures and thin films for applications in energy storage and conversion. With over a decade of experience in materials science, Navdeep's work integrates advanced synthesis methods with state-of-the-art microscopic, spectroscopic, and electrochemical techniques to develop sustainable materials for photovoltaics, fuel cells, bipolar membranes, and electrochemical sensors.
She earned her Ph.D. in Physics from Guru Nanak Dev University, India. Her recent research explores sulvanite- and metal-organic framework (MOF)-based materials as efficient light-harvesting and catalytic components in solar devices.
An active member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and Sigma Xi, Navdeep also serves on the editorial board of Surfaces (MDPI) and regularly reviews manuscripts for several high-impact journals. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and mentoring the next generation of researchers in advanced materials and sustainable energy technologies.
