Mahyar Ramezani

Biography

Mahyar Ramezani serves as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the College of Engineering and Computing at Florida International University (FIU), where he began his appointment in July 2023. He completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the University of Louisville, followed by several years of postdoctoral research positions at multiple institutions.

His research interests and expertise include:

• Design and advancements of high-performance and multifunctional cementitious composites (e.g., UHPC & ECC) and nanocomposites for next generation intelligent and resilient infrastructure systems

• Additive manufacturing techniques, including 3D concrete printing and pneumatic spray applications, to enhance precision, efficiency, and material performance in modern construction

• Structural health monitoring and nondestructive evaluation techniques to ensure safety, durability, and performance of civil infrastructure

• Application of artificial intelligence, data-driven probabilistic modeling, and finite element analysis to enhance structural reliability, quantify uncertainties, and optimize material design and performance prediction

• Life cycle assessment of construction materials to evaluate environmental impact and sustainability
