Hossein "Zane" Tavana

Biography

Professor Tavana has more than 20 years’ work experience in different industries. Before joining FIU as a full-time faculty, he had leading and consulting roles in the airline, cruise line, agriculture, and consumer-packaged goods industries, specializing in pricing, revenue management, business analytics, forecasting and optimization. He has continued to keep a close relationship with the industry.

Professor Tavana earned his Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering with an emphasis on Operations Research from the University of Texas at Austin. He collaborated with the College of Engineering and Computing as an Adjunct Professor from 2015 to 2021, and joined the Enterprise and Logistics Engineering graduate program (currently ESM) as a full-time research professor in Fall 2021.
