Biography
Bhargav Bhatkalkar is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences at Florida International University. He brings over 16 years of university-level teaching experience in Computer Science and Engineering, complemented by prior industry experience as a software developer.
His research focuses on applying deep learning techniques to medical image processing, computer-aided diagnosis, and network/data security. He has published peer-reviewed work in internationally recognized journals and conferences.
He is also an active member of the academic community, regularly serving as a reviewer for high-impact journals in the fields of medical imaging, artificial intelligence, and computer science.
He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science, with research focused on deep learning applications in retinal diagnostics. He has also supervised industry-collaborative student projects in partnership with leading global technology firms.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of ACM, and a Lifetime Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (India). At FIU, he is also a certified hybrid instructor.
