Arjun Arunasalam

Biography

Arjun Arunasalam (Ph.D.) is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Florida International University, specializing in human-centered security, privacy, and trust in sociotechnical systems. His research uses mixed methods—digital ethnography, focus groups, surveys, statistical analysis, applied ML—to examine how systems fail to deliver trustworthy content, how emerging abuses arise, and how these harms shape users’ security and privacy decisions. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University and B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan. His work appears in top venues such as USENIX Security, NDSS, EMNLP, IEEE S&P and ICWSM.
