Biography
Alejandro Dominguez is a dedicated program coordinator at the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences. He supports the Transfer Pathways Program, where he develops strategic initiatives to enhance student success and engagement. His work includes designing and implementing custom Qualtrics surveys, coordinating degree pathway development with Miami Dade College and fostering strong relationships between students, advisors and faculty.
Before joining the Knight Foundation School, Dominguez worked as a studio lab assistant in the Department of Art + Art History, where he helped maintain photography labs, assisted with exhibitions and documented departmental projects. His background in both the arts and administration reflects a commitment to precision, creativity and student-centered service.
A Miami native, Dominguez earned his BA in Art, with a concentration in photography, from FIU, graduating magna cum laude. He also served in the United States Air Force, managing aviation resource operations and supporting aircrew and parachutist missions across multiple units. His time in service instilled in him a deep sense of discipline, leadership and accountability – qualities he brings to his work at FIU.
Blending a background in visual arts, data-driven program management and military precision, Dominguez brings a unique perspective to higher education administration and student support.
