Major in Environmental Engineering
The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering prepares you for an evolving and fast-growing career solving ecological problems. Students receive comprehensive, foundational knowledge in biology, geology, chemistry, ecology, atmospheric sciences, geotechnical and water resources engineering.
These skills are applied directly through training, research and technology that directly equips students for professional engineering licensure.

Classes
When enrolled in the Bachelor of Environmental Engineering, you’ll get precise knowledge of the practical applications of the degree. Exploring topics that combine the sub-discipline of Civil Engineering with ecological sciences like:
- Pollution prevention
- Waste management
- Urban planning
- Sustainable resource development

Requirements
Environmental Engineering students must take and pass ENV4960 to graduate. Students showing evidence of passing the state FE (EIT) examination will have this requirement waived.
Capstone Courses
This program requires a Senior Design capstone project, to be completed in your last two semesters. During the course, you will be mentored by faculty and industry leaders as you work to address and solve real-world engineering problems. Using your newly learned skills, you will undertake product design, implementation and budgeting as part of a team.

Apply to FIU
Interested students are encouraged to apply to FIU as early as possible. Applicants must submit a high school diploma, SAT, ACT or CLT scores and transcripts from all schools attended.
