John L. Volakis is the dean of the College of Engineering & Computing and a professor of electrical and computer engineering. He is a leader in all aspects of wireless communications, biomedical sensors and imaging, wearable textile electronics, antennas and arrays.
Dean Volakis has excelled in research, teaching and service for more than 38 years. He believes that at the heart of engineering is the ability to find creative ways to solve complex problems. Under Dean Volakis’ direction, the College of Engineering & Computing prepares students to develop innovative solutions to those challenges, helps them excel in a demanding field and builds on groundbreaking research, all while growing the college’s alliances with industry and the community.
