All new FIU students who have matriculated with the University (those admitted students who have confirmed their intention to attend FIU by having paid the $200.00 matriculation fee) are required to participate and attend New Student Orientation. Orientation consists of two steps: 1) Virtual Orientation, and 2) Freshman or Transfer Student on Campus Orientation. The first part is conducted via online and the second is on campus, face-to-face. During the orientation, you will learn about academic policies and requirements, get familiar with campus buildings/landmarks, meet with an Academic Advisor to understand the classes you should be taking, register for your first semester of classes hear about resources and involvement opportunities and make connections with other new students.
