Florida Action for Minorities in Engineering (FLAME) AT FIU
Fall and Spring
The FLAME (Florida Action for Minorities in Engineering) program is a joint program between the Miami‐Dade County Public School System and Florida International University, specially designed for minority high school students, providing a unique educational experience in the field of engineering.

During their senior year, students take six credits of dual enrollment engineering/computer science courses at the FIU College of Engineering and Computing. Students take the classes at the FIU Engineering Center thus exposing them to university life while enhancing their education. The program serves an Engineering Magnet Program that resides at Miami Coral Park Senior High School.

National Science Foundation- Broadening Participation in Computing Program (NSF – BPC) Summer Dual Enrollment Program
During the second section of the summer semester (Summer B), the college offers a three-credit course in Engineering Software Techniques (EEL 2280) to students entering at least the 10th grade with GPA of 3.0 or greater.
