What are the dates of the program?

Monday June 26th through Friday, July 29th, 2016
Fourth of July will be observed Monday, July 4th

What are the times?

Classes start at 8:30 AM and end at 3:30 PM,  students can be dropped off no earlier than 8: 15 AM in the cafeteria and picked up no later than 3:45 PM from the bottom garage

Is transportation provided?

Transportation is provided for field trips only.

What is the dress code?

Dress code is relaxed for summer program – shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, but no flip flops or sandals. Certain days proper attire is necessary for laboratory and field trips.

Where is the program located?

The program takes place at the FIU Engineering Center is located on the corner of SW 107th Avenue and Flagler Street in Miami, Florida. The Engineering is 1.5 miles north of the main FIU Modesto Maidique campus and Miami-Dade County Fairgrounds.

Is lunch provided?

Free lunch is provided by The Village Youth Services

Can I bring lunch or what are the options?

Free lunch is provided daily by the Village Youth Services; children may bring their own lunch or purchase items from FIU Cafeteria at a special rate

What should my child bring?

Backpack, paper, pencil, water bottle, or any other item required by faculty.

What is the attendance procedure?

Participants must attend daily, only two excused absences are allowed for the quick pace of the programs and courses. If need to picked up early and/or arrive after 9AM please report directly to Miami Prep office located in Room 2628

What is the cost of the program?

All applicants pay a minimum one-time registration fee of $25. The cost of the program is $850 for the five weeks, limited scholarships are available for students in need. [Non-Refundable]

Is the program residential?

This program is NOT residential. We do not currently offer any residential pre-collegiate summer programs.

Can students outside of Miami-Dade County participate?

Students residing outside of Miami-Dade County may participate, based on program eligibility, and the fee will be $150 per week.
