For the first time, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at FIU’s College of Engineering and Computing is collaborating with Microsoft to offer undergraduate students a certification in Azure Fundamentals as part of a new course enhancement.
This strategic collaboration, which was forged to better prepare undergraduate students to meet the demands of today’s job market, allows those enrolled in CNT 3143: IoT Analytics with Cloud Services to secure certification in one of the most in-demand cloud platforms, Microsoft Azure.
In addition to learning about various cloud computing concepts and popular platforms through the established CNT 3143 course, the Azure Fundamentals certification offers students a foundational-level knowledge of cloud services and how those services are provided through Microsoft Azure. The certification curriculum covers general cloud computing concepts, models and services, while also overviewing core Azure services and solutions, and key Azure pillar services concerning security, privacy, compliance, and trust. An overview of pricing and support services available through Azure will also be provided. Students must pass a proficiency exam at the end of the course to secure the Azure certification.
