Congratulations to Shekhar Bhansali for receiving the 2020 Sensor Division Outstanding Achievement Award from the U.S. Electrochemical Society.
The Sensor Division Outstanding Achievement Award was created in 1989 to recognize outstanding achievement in research or technical contributions to the field of sensors.
Bhansali’s latest research focuses on taking sensing to the point of care and making sensors wearable. Bhansali is also looking into incorporating sensors in wound dressing to enable continuous measurement of chronic wounds.
The award is given every two years and consists of a framed certificate and a $1,000 prize.
Bhansali is the interim director of FIU’s School of Electrical, Computer and Enterprise Engineering; chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering; and Alcatel-Lucent professor.
