FIU is International

The FIU College of Engineering and Computing actively seeks to expand its reach at the international level, and fosters collaboration with academic institutions and organizations from around the World.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT

The College has the  Division of External Programs for active engineering professors seeking to obtain an advanced Ph.D. degree in one of the engineering disciplines offered by the College. The program is open to faculty from institutions of higher education in foreign countries that are members of the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions (LACCEI).

FUTURE HOUSE USA

FIU will be the only university to represent the U.S. in China by designing and building a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient and sustainable house. It will be visited by millions during and after the 2008 Olympic Summer Games in Beijing. FIU Green Program

EXTERNAL PROGRAMS

The College offers a number of academic programs in collaboration with accredited foreign institutions of higher learning. The host institutions generally provide the infrastructure and facilities for the delivery of the programs in their country. The goal of the global programs is to complement the existing academic programs offered by the host institution.

The FIU College of Engineering and Computing welcomes international students from around the world. Nearly 50% of the College’s student population comes from regions as diverse as Latin America, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERSHIPS

The College emphasizes partnerships with foreign institutions as a key component of its mission. It has established formal partnerships with 39 accredited universities in 16 countries throughout Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia. These partnerships include dual-degree programs, student and faculty exchange agreements, research collaborations, and faculty development agreements.
