| The
Master of Environmental and Urban Systems
(MEUS) is an interdisciplinary program designed
for planning professionals and graduate students
in urban issues. The purpose of the MEUS
degree is to provide a multidisciplinary
education to students interested in the practice
of urban and environmental planning. Particular
emphasis may be placed on issues related
to tropical and subtropical areas. The degree
is available in a thesis or non-thesis program. |
|
| |
| Employment
of urban and regional planners is expected to
be driven by the need for State and
local governments to provide public services such
as regulation of commercial development, the environment,
transportation, housing, and land use and development
for an expanding population. Initiatives dealing
with historic preservation and redevelopment will
provide additional openings. Career opportunities
for urban and regional planners will also occur
in the private sector, primarily in professional,
scientific, and technical services. According to
the US Department of Labor, graduates with a master’s
degree from an accredited program should have an
advantage in the job market. |

Admission Requirements
