| The School of Computing and Information
Science offers a Bachelor of Arts (BA)
degree in Information Technology as a second major or as
a second Bachelor Degree. Students in this program
will gain knowledge in areas such as programming,
operating systems, networking, website development,
database administration, applied computing, etc. |

Admission Requirements
This program is open to those students who are
enrolled in and will be completing another
bachelor degree program at FIU or those who
already have a bachelor degree from an accredited
institution. In addition, there are 5 prerequisite
courses that must be completed prior to starting
the Information Technology program. Computer
Science and Computer Engineering are not accepted
as the primary major at this time. To request

aid and Scholarships
FIU and the College of Engineering and Computing

and scholarships to qualified students. The amounts
and eligibility requirements of these awards vary

Degree
Requirements
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Information
Technology as a second major requires completion
of prerequisite courses and 30 credit hours
(10 courses) of required and elective courses.
At least 50% of the upper division credits
taught by the School must be taken at the University.
All courses must be completed with a grade
